What is the target?

The Push-Up Target

The Push-Up target is the number of push-ups you will aim to complete over the Challenge! This will be split up into Daily Targets, which will change each day and relate to the Daily Mental Health Fact!

Australia

Australia's The Push-Up Challenge target changes each year. In 2026, we're completing 3,307 push-ups over 24 days. This represents the 3,307 lives lost to suicide in Australia in 2024.

We know that everyone’s circumstances, fitness levels, and schedules are different. That’s why participants can also choose to take on a half‑target, completing half of the full push‑up goal over the same period - a great option if you’re new to the challenge or easing your way in.

Canada, United Kingdom and New Zealand

The Push-Up Challenge target for Canada, United Kingdom and New Zealand in 2026 is 2,000 push-ups, which represents the ~2,000 lives lost to suicide each day, worldwide. According to the World Health Organization, an estimated 703,000 people die by suicide worldwide each year (or one person every 40 seconds).
